Angel and the Badman

Wounded and on the run, gunfighter Quirt Evans collapses at the door of a Quaker family and wakes up in a world that doesn’t believe in guns. John Wayne’s first film as producer — written and directed by James Edward Grant — casts him as a notorious badman slowly disarmed by Penelope Worth (Gail Russell), the quiet young woman who nurses him back to health.
